What's Around Us

Trancoso - 10 min by car
Trancoso's Quadrado is a UNESCO-protected, car-free historic square in Bahia, Brazil, famed for its colorful colonial houses, centuries-old church, and bohemian vibe. By day, it is a sleepy village center with artisan shops; by night, it transforms into an upscale, candlelit dining destination.Â

The Vibe: A seamless blend of rustic simplicity and high-end luxury. You'll find fisherman’s cottages alongside upscale boutiques and international art galleries.
Â
The Sights: The iconic 16th-century São João Batista Church sits at the edge of the cliff, offering sweeping views of the coastline and the meeting of the Trancoso River with the sea.

CaraÃva - 20 min by car
A remote, car-free fishing village in southern Bahia, Brazil, famous for its rustic charm, sandy streets, and the meeting of the CaraÃva River with the Atlantic Ocean. Don't miss a chance to visit the neighbouring Patachó indigenous reserve. The perfect off the beaten path destination.Â

Good to know: cars are not allowed in CaraÃva. Drive to Nova CaraÃva, park your vehicle and take a quick canoe ride across the river. Usually costs R$5 to $10.Â
The sights: Praia do Satú. Beautiful rugged beach, featuring cliffs and freshwater lagoons. Reachable via a scenic 1-hour hike or short boat ride from the village.

Arraial D'Ajuda - 25 min by car
Vibrant coastal town with stunning colonial architecture, palm-fringed beaches and lively nightlife.
A short ferry ride from Porto Seguro, the town features one of the most charming streets in Brazil - Rua do Mucugê. A bustling hub of boutiques, craft shops and restaurants and live music.

For the kids: Arraial D'Ajuda Eco Park is a sprawling waterpark featuring water slides, a wave pool, and adventure sports like ziplining and climbing
